Punjab judicial services preliminary & mains examination

Age limit:
Age limit: 1. Not below 21 years and above 37 years of age on the last date of submission of an online application form.
2. Upper age limit for SC/ST of all states and Backward classes only of Punjab shall be upto 42 years.
3. For all the States/ Central Govt. Employees the upper age limit is relaxed upto 45 years of age.
4. Ex- serviceman of the Punjab Domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the armed forces of the Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the direct appointment to such vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, they shall be deemed satisfy the condition regarding age limit.
5. For widows, Divorced women, and certain other categories of women the upper age limit is 42 years.
6. For the Physically handicapped persons who have domicile of the Punjab the Upper age limit is 47 years.

Qualification:

1. Candidates must possess a Degree of Bachelor of Law of any university incorporated Law in India or a Degree of bachelor of Law of Punjab University, The Deccan university. Nepal. The Sindh University or of the Rangoon or Mandalay University in Burma, or should be a barrister of the faculty of Advocates of Scotland.
2. Punjabi Language skills of matric or its equivalent standard. (reading, writing, spoken)

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION SYLLABUS

The preliminary examination shall be of the:-

Note: For each wrong answered question, applicants have to give a penalty of 0.20% i.e. 1/5th marks from the correct answer.

There is no deduction for any unanswered question.

The objective type questions with multiple-choice answers for the Preliminary exam syllabus shall be from the syllabus for the Main Examination along with the below mentioned Topics.

The least qualifying scores in the language paper of Punjabi (Gurumukhi Script) will be 33%.

NOTE: No Candidate shall be called for viva-voce unless he obtains at least 50 % qualifying marks in the aggregate of all the written papers and qualifies in the language paper i.e Punjabi. (SC/ST/backward classes of Punjab and Physically handicapped, Punjab shall be called for interview if they secure 45% marks in aggregate)
