ORISSA ASSISTANT PUBLIC PROSECUTOR SYLLABUS

 WRITTEN EXAMINATION SYLLABUS

a .  WRITTEN EXAMINATION
  • The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 – 45 marks
  • (Chapter Nos. ii, iii, v, vi, vii, viii, x, xii, xiv, xv, xvi, xvii, xviii, xix, xx, xxi, xxiii, xxiv, xxvii, xxviii, xxix, xxx, xxxii, xxxiii, xxxiv, xxxiv)
    b. The Evidence Act,1872 40 marks
    c. The Indian Penal Code,1860 45 marks

    (Chapter nos., ii, iii, iv, v, v-A, viii, xiv, xvi, xvii, xviii, xx, xx-A, xxii, xxiii)

    Note: Depending upon the marks awarded to the candidates in written Examination, the commission will shortlist candidates in the ratio of 1: 3 with reference to the number of vacancies.
     INTERVIEW – [20 marks]
  • Personality Test, Academic knowledge, Communication skills etc.
  • There shall be 20 marks Viva-voce test.

  • Qualification:
  • A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law from recognised University
  • He/she should have at least 2(two) years of experience as Practicing Advocate.
  • Other Eligibility Conditions:
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • He/she must be able to speak, read & write Odia and must have passed either the Middle School standard language test in Odia conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or the Matriculation (Class-X/10th standard) Examination with Odia as a subject.
  • A candidate who has more than one spouse living, will not be eligible for appointment unless the State Govt. Has exempted his/her case from operation of this limitation for any good and sufficient reasons.
  • Govt. Servants, whether temporary or permanent are eligible to apply provided that they possess the requisite qualification and are within the prescribed age-limit as provided. They must submit “No-Objection certificate” issued by the competent authority during document verification.
  • If a candidate has at any time, been debarred for a certain period/chance(s) by the Odisha Public Service Commission or other State Public service commission or UPSC from appearing at any examination/Viva-Voce test, he/she will not be eligible for such recruitment for that specified period/chance(s).
  • A candidate who claims to change in his/her name after having passed the High School Certificate Examination or equivalent examination, is required to furnish a copy of publication of the changed name in local leading daily newspaper as well as a copy of notification in the Gazette in support of his/her change of name.
  • Only those candidates, who fulfil the requisite qualification & are within the prescribed age limit etc. By the closing date submission of online application, will be considered eligible.
