Mizoram Judicial Services Preliminary & Mains Examination

Total marks 100 out of which 90 marks will cover the topics mentioned below in PART A and 10 marks will be for the topics covered in PART B.
NOTE: The ratio on the basis of which the candidates will be called for the main (written) exam shall be 1:10 (for one post 10 candidates will be called)
Age Limit:- General category: 35 years. & SC/ST:  40 Years
  • Date of birth as recorded in the HSLC/HSSLC or other documents as may be accepted by the Commission only will be used as Valid Proof of date of birth.
Negative Marking:- NO
Educational Qualification:

1. Must be a Law graduate from a recognised university.
2. Must have the knowledge of Mizo language till at least middle School standard (spoken,
reading and writing skills).
3. Computer Proficiency: Computer proficiency as prescribed by the Mizoram Group ‘A’,’B’
and ‘c’ posts Service/Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2016 notified vide No.
A.12034/1/2015-P & AR (GSW) dated 10.7.2019 (Details can be seen at MPSC website).

MAINS EXAMINATION SYLLABUS
PAPER 1:    LAW PAPER I             [100 MARKS – 3 hrs.]

1. Constitution of India.
2. Code of Civil Procedure.
3. Transfer Of Property.

PAPER 2:   LAW PAPER II        [100 MARKS – 3 hrs.]

1. Indian Penal Code.
2. Criminal Procedure Code.
3. Indian evidence Act.
4. Law of Torts.

PAPER 3:-       ENGLISH            [100 MARKS – 3 hrs.]

1. Essay writing.
2. Precis Writing.
3. Grammar

PAPER 4:-  GENERAL KNOWLEDGE    [100 MARKS – 3 hrs.]

1. Objective Type.
2. Aptitude Test.

  • CHARACTER CERTIFICATE:
Every candidate selected for appointment by the direct recruitment shall furnish certificates, given not more than six months prior to the date of application, from two respectable persons unconnected with his college, or university and not related to him testifying to his character, in addition to the certificate which may be required to be furnished from educational institution last attended by him.
  • Documentary support to prove all eligibility conditions should not be dated later than the last date of application.
  • DISQUALIFICATION:

 i. Canvassing by a candidate directly or indirectly will disqualify the candidate.
ii. Any candidate who on verification at any stage of recruitment process, doesn’t fulfil any
of the eligibility conditions will be disqualified.
Govt. servants will have to apply through proper channel

INTERVIEW – {50 marks}
Personality Test, Academic knowledge, Communication skills
