BIHAR ASSISTANT PROSECUTING OFFICER SYLLABUS

Negative Marking:- 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION SYLLABUS
The preliminary examination shall consist of the following two papers:
1. General Studies.
2. Law.
Qualifying marks:
General Category- 40%
Backward Classes- 36.5%
Extremely Backward Classes- 34%
SC, ST, Women and Disabled candidates- 32%
Paper 1- General Studies.
1. General Knowledge (including information about the current events).
2. General Science.
3. Indian History and culture, Indian Polity and Geography.
Paper 2- Law
1. Indian penal Code.
2. Indian Evidence Act.
3. Criminal Procedure Code.
4. Indian Constitution.
MAINS EXAMINATION SYLLABUS
  • Descriptive questions will be asked in the mains examination.
  • The duration of the examination will be 3hrs. For each paper.
The Main Examination shall consist of the following papers:

Paper 1- General Studies [ M.M 100 – 3 hrs]
1. Questions of general knowledge (including information about current events).
2. General science.
3. Indian Polity and geography

Paper 2- Hindi Language [ M.M 100 – 3hrs]
1. The level of this paper will be the same as that of Hindi intended for the candidates studying Hindi continuously from the Fourth Grade in the Secondary examination of the Bihar School Examination Committee.
2. The minimum qualifying marks for this paper will be 30. Failing which the candidate will not be considered qualified for the written examination.
The marks obtained in this paper will not be added to the merit list.

Paper 3- English Language [M.M 100- 3hrs]
1.The ability of the candidate to express their feelings clearly and accurately in simple English and the intuitive power of English on familiar subjects will be tested.
2. The minimum qualifying marks for this paper will be 30, failing which the candidate will not be considered qualified for the written test.
3. The marks obtained in this paper will not be added to the merit list.
Paper 4- Indian Penal Code. [ M.M 150- 3hrs]
Paper 5- Indian Evidence Act. [ M.M 150 – 3hrs]
Paper 6- Code of Criminal procedure [ M.M 150 – 3hrs]
Paper 7 –    Other Laws [ M.M 150- 3hrs]
In this paper the question relating to the following Acts will be asked:
– Arms Act, 1959
– Explosive Substance Act, 1908
– Dowry prohibition Act, 1961 – Prevention Of Corruption Act,1988 – Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act   1989 – POCSO ACT,2012
Level of questions in the subjects from Paper 4-7 will be the same as prescribed for the Law Graduate.
INTERVIEW – {100 marks}
  • Personality Test, Academic knowledge, Communication skills etc.
Qualification:
Law Graduate from the recognised university.
