Syllabus
GUJARAT LAW OFFICER, INDUSTRIAL SAFETY AND HEALTH SYLLABUS
- There will be one written exam i.e. preliminary exam.
- 2 hours duration
- Marks – 200, Questions- 200, medium- English.
Note: There is no reserved post for persons with disabilities. However, candidates possessing disability as shown below can apply for the above-mentioned post. Low Vision -(40% to 70%), Hard of hearing- (40% to 70%), OL (One leg), BL (Both legs), OA (One Arm), OAL (One ArmOne Leg), LC (Leprosy Cured), DW (Dwarfism), AAV (Acid attack Victim). The candidates possessing other than prescribed disabilities are not eligible to apply.
- Age Limit:-
- General category: - Not more than 42 years. Age will be considered as on last date of online application (As per GAD RESOLUTION-NO/GS/18/2021/CRR/11/2021/450900/G-5,14/10/2021).
- Female Candidates: 05 years (up to maximum 45 years)
- Persons with disabilities: 10 years (subject to Maximum 45 Years on the basis of Medical Certificate issued by the Medical Board) Candidates having disability other than prescribed above are not eligible for application.
- Ex. Serviceman Including E.C.O./S.S.C. O Length of the Military Service Plus three years (MaximumUp to 45 years)
A candidate who is already in Gujarat Govt. Services, either as a permanent or a temporary officiating continuously for six months and had not crossed age limit prescribed for the advertised post at the time of his first appointment.
- If the experience prescribed as one of the qualifications, the upper age limit shall not apply.
- If the experience is not prescribed as one of the qualifications and a Govt. Servant appointed to a post requiring a Medical, Engineering, Veterinary or Agriculture degree or diploma and who applied for any such post, the upper age limit shall not apply.
- If the experience is not prescribed as one of the qualifications in the advertisement, Govt. Servants who are working on the post from which an employee can be promoted to the post so advertised, be entitled to relaxation of 5 years, or to the extent of equal number of the years for which service has been put in by him, whichever is less.

- Qualification
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Law (special)/Bachelor of legislative law (LLB) (Threeyear’s)/ a bachelor’s Degree in Law (integrated) of five years course obtained from an any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India, or any other educational institutions recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a university under sec. 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
- Experience
- Have about three years of active and continuous experience as an advocate and such an experience certificate shall be certified in case of an advocate practicing in the high court by the Registrar General and in other case by the Presiding Officer of the Court or the Tribunal where he practices as an advocate, or;
- Have about three years' experience of legal matters in the Government/Local Bodies/ Government undertaking/Board/Corporation/Limited Companies established under the companies Act,2013 or a university.
Explanation:
Legal Matters means all work relating to drafting of legal notice, affidavit, parawise remarks etc., filing of suits, appeals, providing opinion, briefing the concerned Law officer or Advocate of the concerned Court cases pending before various courts.
- Possess the basic knowledge of the Computer Application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967; and
- Possess adequate knowledge of Gujrati or Hindi or Both.
